For purposes of this section, the following shall apply:Īssistant Secretary means the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health, or designated representative.īlood means human blood, human blood components, and products made from human blood.īloodborne Pathogens means pathogenic microorganisms that are present in human blood and can cause disease in humans.
